Fukuoka, Japan

Manu coffee is one of my favourite places to grab a latte. Whenever I have free time in Fukuoka city I always make sure to stop by at one of their locations for a latte. The inside of the shop gives off a cozy indie vibe using lots of colour, wood, dim lighting and graphics to decorate. It’s comfortable to hang inside and drink your coffee, or you can get your drink to go. They are one of the few shops that are open later, one location is even open until 3AM. So if you enjoy a late night coffee or are just a night owl looking for a nice place to go this is probably the coffee shop for you.
The espresso at Manu Coffee is rich and smooth making any flavoured latte delicious. My go to drinks are the vanilla wasabon latte 560円 (no, I don’t know what wasabon means) and the honey cinnamon latte 560円 both hot and iced versions depending on the weather. Manu Coffee also has a free point card where if you buy 15 drinks or beans you can get one free, so if you’re sticking around Fukuoka it’s worth getting. The menu also has juices, teas, frozen drinks and cookies. Depending on the location and what’s available at the time they have ice-cream, sandwiches, or something like pizza. You’ll have to check their menu in person for what’s available during your visit.
As of this post they have three locations in Fukuoka city. The Daimyo, Haruyoshi, and Kujira locations. My personal favourite location is the Haruyoshi one. It’s within walking distance of Canal City, on the other side of the Nakagawa river. The shop is smaller and has large windows facing the street that give a great street view in the evenings, this is also the location open until 3AM. It’s also the smallest with seating for 20. The Daimyo location is in the Tenjin area and is right off kokutai road, it’s actually not too far from the Apple store. It’s on a small offshoot from the main road so you’ll need to keep an eye out for the sign, make sure not to miss the turn. I have yet to try the Kujira location but it’s near Yakuin station. There was another location in the Sumiyoshi area beside the river but it is currently closed. Google maps says it’s temporarily closed but I’m not too sure.
